"Sustainable practices are practices that meet the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs."(Brundtland Report 1987)
Our sustainability practices are based on the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The three components - economical, environmental, and social performance- are given equal importance at the macroeconomic and societal level, as well as at the global and corporate levels.
Economic Dimension
For us, economic performance is not an end in itself: it means creating and maintaining stable material foundations. This also includes know-how and experience in order to manufacture high quality products. Only long-term stability secures the economic foundations of our company and, in this way, the livelihoods of our employees.
Constant innovation, challenges of a fair competition and a long-term customer orientation are part of responsible business for us. Regional networking (suppliers, craftsmen, services such as transportation, etc.) is an important factor.
We have developed our own Code of Conduct, in which we set out the rules of conduct that are important and relevant to us. This code will be binding for all our employees and serve as a guideline for our suppliers. In this way, we hope to improve our supplier relationships and avoid practices that we regard as inappropriate and unacceptable.
The INDULOR-Group is certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001 (Quality Management System) and enables its customers to carry out audits at the production sites if desired.
Environmental Dimension
Sustainability means dealing responsibly with the environment.
We meet global ecological requirements and pay attention to the responsible use of resources such as raw materials and energy. We regularly review existing supply chains and strive to ensure that our suppliers and customers operate in a sustainable manner. This also includes so-called "swap" transactions to avoid unnecessary transport routes.
Renewable raw materials are used where they are available and where possible. We are committed to generating an optimum yield in order to avoid as much waste as possible. We strive to eliminate substances that are hazardous to the environment and health and manufacture almost exclusively water-based products.
Furthermore, we are increasing the use of renewable energy (solar power). We have already installed a Photovoltaic system on one of the roofs. The recovery and reuse of waste heat has been standard practice for many years. The INDULOR-Group operates according to the specifications of DIN EN ISO 50001 (energy management system) and is also certified accordingly. Furthermore, Indulor Leverkusen GmbH & Co. KG is certified according to DIN EN ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System).
The other sites are to be integrated into the environmental management concept in the near future. This is how we achieve a growing share of environmentally and climate-friendly conditions.
In addition the INDULOR-Group uses EcoVadis and has been assessed according to its standards and has been made aware of areas of improvement. Furthermore, EcoVadis allows us to assess and monitor our suppliers in order to ensure a sustainable procurement.
Social Dimension
The INDULOR-Group supports and respects internationally approved human rights and does not allow any violation against those in its field of activity.
We are committed to the principles of legality, ethics, and our code of values. This includes corporate responsibility towards people and the environment, i.e., fair, loyal, and legally compliant dealings with our employees and, of course, with customers and business partners. Any unlawful influences (up to and including corruption) to achieve financial advantages are strictly rejected. Equality and diversity form an indispensable component of our personnel structure and are part of our overall social responsibility. Furthermore, we put great value on occupational safety.
All these building blocks contribute to further developing Indulor as an employer and thus to remaining attractive especially for the next generation of workers.
Our employees enjoy our full trust and thus benefit from flexible working hours. In order to protect our employees, the environment, and our operational processes, the INDULOR Group, has developed a Contingency Plan. The aim is to prevent accidents and minimize the risks to people and the environment in the event of an emergency.
The INDULOR Group, more specifically, its management, is actively involved in social projects both locally and nationally, especially when these benefit children. The management also sponsors local and professional sports clubs. Beyond that, Erwin Fengler, founder of the INDULOR-Group, supports the Amazon region in cooperation with a German bishop with private funds. Due to his support hospitals and workshop have been built.
